Message

Being a Rotarian for the past 20 years inspires many different feelings. I am exceedingly proud of the work and contribution our Club has made in our community of St. Helena. We are People of Action and over these past 20 years our club has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support youth programs and community projects, always in an attempt to “give back” to the place we call home.

But there is another part of Rotary that inspires me and that is why I chose this picture of me in front of a Rotary sign in a small town in Chile. Rotary is all over the world and wherever I have traveled I see the work that Rotarians have done in their communities. This offers an opportunity to work side by side with Rotary groups in other countries. I have found that when you work together to build homes, or clean water projects, provide cleft palate surgery, or inoculate children against polio, there is a bond, and I believe that is where peace starts.

If you have a heart for service and want to make the world and our community a better place, go rotary.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Kathleen Patterson

President 2019/20
